The Just Fashion Project is an awareness platform and a fashion workshop with a mission to slow down fashion.

What even is fast fashion?

Fast fashion is a multifaceted industry. Any store/brand/company that has a large volume and a quick turnover is considered fast fashion regardless of the price listed.

For consumers, it’s not about shopping less, shopping better, shopping smarter.

It’s actually not about shopping at all. It’s about questioning the practices we partake in on the daily without realizing their colonialist and exploitative roots.

Just Fashion tackles issues caused by fast fashion including:

Through events, Just Fashion will bring awareness to consumers on the negative effects of fast fashion.

Events will consist of two sections:

1) Presentation

  • During this section, there will be a discussion on fast fashion. Different events will focus on particular issues to dive into such as labor exploitation.
  • The goal here is to have an open dialogue about our shopping habits and what issues we need to be aware of.

2) Workshop

  • During this section, there will be activities such as a clothing swap and DIY workrooms which will include moodboards and resources for transforming your clothes.

About the Founder

I’m Bianca!!

I’m a law student pursuing a career in entertainment law.

So why fashion?

While law can be a pretty conservative field, I’ve enjoyed the challenge of not fully compromising my personal style in order to fit into the “traditional lawyer look.”

Creating an outfit for the day, or just for fun, always elevates my mood and allows me to express

myself. I love to sew, thrift, upcycle and learn about fashion history.

Tickets are priced based on a sliding fee scale! This allows the cost to be adjusted based on factors like your income.

A big issue with fast fashion is capitalism. Fashion brands take advantage of consumers’ vulnerabilities and turn them into profit.

Walk it like I talk it! As I speak out against this issue, I would feel it’d be unfair to ask everyone to pay the same fee when I know not everyone lives the same lifestyle, has the same income, or simply is going through a rough time.

I also don’t ask questions on why you choose a fee over the other!
